Shao Xing Wantons

Making Shao Xing Wantons in Toh’s Daily Chilli Garlic Oil

Ingredients

  • 250g of minced chicken
  • 2 tbsp of minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons minced ginger
  • Some chopped garlic chives
  • Wanton skin

Condiments:

  • 2 teaspoons of soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons if Shaoxing Wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1/3 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon of white pepper
  • 5 teaspoons of Toh’s Daily Chili Garlic

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the chicken,ginger, garlic , garlic chives, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sesame oil, salt, white pepper and two teaspoons of Toh’s Daily Chili Garlic.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place 2 teaspoons of the meat filling in the middle.
  3. Wet the edges of the wanton skin and bring together and pinch into a small pouch.
  4. Bring a large pot of water to boil over medium-high heat, add in your wanton when it is boiling.
  5. Stir gently so they don’t stick to the bottom of the pot. Cook for 4-6 minutes or until cooked through, you may cut one open to check.
  6. Drain well and toss in the Toh’s Daily Chili Garlic. Serve it with extra green onions, and toasted sesame seeds if you want.
